“Tales of the Sea” is an exciting project for the conservation of the marine environment, which shares our philosophy and collaborative spirit, to which we join with the illusion of contributing our grain of sand: everything counts.Because the support of large and small is essential to achieve:
BIG CHANGES
WITH SMALL ACTIONS
The project, in which Springfield participates hand in hand with the Fundación Oceanogràfic and the Fundación Plastic Free, with the collaboration of the Xávea City Council and Aqualung, aims to clean the Granadella beach in Xávea and its seabed, with the help of volunteers, and the subsequent release of two turtles recovered in the Oceanographic Conservation program.
The turtles recovered and released into the sea, whom we have called Springfield and Reconsider, carry a GPS device that allows us to track them through a satellite signal, thus allowing us to study their habits in their natural environment. With
this project we seek to raise awareness and make our small contribution to the environment, giving visibility to the work of different foundations for the conservation of our seas and the living beings that inhabit them.

Sea turtles, in addition to being very charismatic animals, are very useful as an umbrella species for the conservation of the seas, because they arouse sympathy and help cultivate environmental awareness. These turtles, which can measure up to 120 centimeters long and weigh about 160 kilos, are also used as bioindicators, measuring the impact that marine litter has on them: they get caught in drifting plastics or nets, many of them are damaged the fins and sometimes you have to amputate.
